Strawberry enters a partnership to launch electric “helicopter aircrafts” for personal aviation in Scandinavia

Earlier this year, Widerø Zero signed a letter of intent to purchase 50 electric “helicopter aircrafts” for personal transport. Now, it's clear that the infrastructure company Seabrokers Innovation and Strawberry are joining as partners. Together, they will explore how these aircraft can create the optimal transportation solution for the many less accessible locations in Scandinavia.

The hotel group Strawberry sees significant potential in tourism experiences and easier access to more remote destinations.

- For Strawberry, which aims to be at the forefront of innovative solutions, it is very interesting to see how these electric “helicopter aircrafts” can create an efficient, environmentally friendly, and unique experience for our guests. We have several exciting destinations in the Nordic region that could be interesting to explore with Widerøe Zero and Seabrokers, says Christian Lundén, VP Strategic Growth at Strawberry.

Widerøe Zero is enthusiastic about this collaboration, which is also leading in the world. With lower operating costs and significantly better environmental performance than traditional air travel, this creates opportunities for new aviation alternatives.

- The aircraft is unique, and we are at the forefront to use it along with, among others, United Airlines. With Strawberry and Seabrokers on the team, there is a significant opportunity for Scandinavia to become one of the first markets for what we believe will be a revolution in air transport, says Andreas Aks, CEO of Widerøe Zero.

Seabrokers Innovations is also part of the team, led by the former transport minister of Norway, Ketil Solvik Olsen. Seabrokers is significant in real estate, construction, and new mobility and sees this collaboration as an exciting opportunity.

    - This fits well with our commitment to developing new transportation solutions. As a major player in the construction industry, we want to participate in the development of local small airports, vertiports, which can contribute to exciting community development. Through this collaboration, we can offer exciting opportunities for many of our innovative tenants, says Ketil Solvik Olsen, CEO of Seabrokers Innovations.

When these companies succeed, it will lay the foundation for a completely new way of thinking about air travel in Scandinavia. The trio compares this to when the railway transitioned from steam locomotives to electric power and is convinced that Scandinavia will benefit from a similar revolution in aviation. At the same time, they hope that authorities will participate as catalysts in this endeavor.
