Strawberry appoints new Senior Vice President for Clarion Hotel in the Nordics

Kim A. Øverland has been appointed Senior Vice President for all Clarion Hotel in the Nordics. Øverland has experience from several hotels in the group and has most recently held a position as General Manager at the Norwegian hotel The Well outside Oslo.

Just days after Kim A. Øverland was presented as the new General Manager at The Well, it is now made official that he will instead take over the position as Senior Vice President for Clarion Hotel in the Nordics.

- Of course, it is a bit special to resign so early after changing jobs, but this opportunity is unique and something that only comes once in a lifetime. I know Clarion Hotel as a premium brand within the Nordic hotel market and to have the opportunity to be part of the incredibly exciting path that Strawberry has ahead of it was impossible to say no to, says Kim A. Øverland.

Clarion Hotel currently consists of 33 hotels in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, with another five new hotels in the pipeline. The chain has a full-service concept with a restaurant, bar, wellness and spa, and the hotels are either centrally located in major cities or in close connection to airports.

Øverland has spent most of his career in Norway, initially at the former Quality Spa & Resort Holmsbu, where he also received professional training in the hotel industry. He then moved on to Norefjell Ski & Spa and Kragerø Resort. After this he has been with Fredensborg and Canica, before he now returns to Strawberry after a short stay at The Well, where he has also had a seat at the board.

I'm leaving a wonderful hotel and spa with incredibly wonderful people. I wish them all the best, before I've actually started. The timing would have been different, but with a chance like that, you can't choose time. The ambitions that Strawberry has set are completely unique and the most exciting in the tourism industry in all of Northern Europe. Being able to put my stamp on that story is like a dream come true for me, who always wanted to be in this industry, says Øverland.
