Nordic Choice Hotels recruits new Chief Operating Officer in Finland

To succeed on the ambitions for further growth in the Finnish market, the hotel company has created a new position as Chief Operating Officer in Finland.

After acquiring Kämp Collection Hotels, the most unique hotel portfolio in Finland, in 2019, Helsinki has become the third biggest market for Nordic Choice Hotels after Oslo and Stockholm. With two more hotel projects at Helsinki Vantaa Airport in the pipeline and ambitions of further growth, Nordic Choice Hotels has recruited Erika Ehrnrooth as new Chief Operating Officer for the Finnish operation in the company.

– Our plans in Finland were disturbed by the pandemic, but our goals are unchanged: We have huge ambitions for our Finnish hotels and for the Finnish market, and to achieve these ambitions we have seen the need for a Chief Operating Officer in Finland. Erika Ehrnrooth has impressive results as a leader and we are proud and happy she accepted this central and really important position in our company, says Torgeir Silseth, CEO at Nordic Choice Hotels.

Ehrnrooth comes from the position as CEO at the recruitment and staffing service company Eilakaisla, where she previously also has held the positions as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. She has a M.sc. Economics from Hanken School of Economics, and wide experience as a leader with impressive results.

– In addition she has proven in her leadership that her values and ideas on corporate culture are absolutely on line with our own. Nordic Choice Hotels wants to be a rebel who dare to challenge, and Ehrnrooth is a leader that empowers this in her teams and also dares to drive brave projects herself, Silseth says.

As COO Finland, Ehrnrooth will have the full responsibility for all Finnish hotels in Nordic Choice Hotels. Eleven of them are today organised in Nordic Hotels & Resorts, a collection of single-branded hotels, and two hotels are branded as Clarion Hotel. Ehrnrooth will also be a part of the Group Management in Nordic Choice Hotels.

– I am really looking forward to getting to know my new colleagues and a new industry to me. But both in hospitality and in the recruitment industry, people and guest service are central. I have worked a lot on customer experiences, but also employee engagement, and that experience can be transferred to Nordic Choice Hotels where creating the best guest experiences and the best corporate culture are the main areas in focus, says Erika Ehrnrooth, incoming COO Finland at Nordic Choice Hotels.

Ehnrooth will join the company October 1st 2022. She lives in Helsinki and will be based in the Finnish capitol.
