​Nordic Choice Hotels launches partnership with the Nordic cancer societies

The hotel group’s customer loyalty programme, Nordic Choice Club, now allows all members to donate their bonus points to the national cancer societies in the Nordic countries.

The Cancer Society in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland work to prevent and fight cancer, while improving the quality of life for patients and their loved ones. Describing the new partnership, the Norwegian Cancer Society said:

‘The Norwegian Cancer Society is proud to have a new a collaborative partner in the shape of Nordic Choice Hotels. For the Norwegian Cancer Society, it is essential that we have strong partners with the right values who can share our message through both their words and actions. At the same time, we know that many of Nordic Choice Hotels’ guests would like to support our work through donations. This is now possible via the customer loyalty programme and this will enable us to do more of our important work in the fields of research and care, while also allowing us to focus on prevention.’

Cancer has more than doubled since the 1970s, but cancer research and developments in treatment mean that two out of every three cancer sufferers today survive. As a result of the partnership between the Nordic cancer societies and Nordic Choice Hotels, almost two million members of the customer loyalty programme Nordic Choice Club will now be able to donate their bonus points to cancer organisations in their respective countries via the Nordic Choice Hotels website.

– Cancer is something that unfortunately affects many of us either directly or indirectly during our lives. We know how important it is to research different types of cancer in order to both prevent and treat them, which is why we are incredibly pleased to be working together with the national cancer societies in the Nordic countries. We know that our guests care about supporting good causes, and it is fantastic that we can offer our members the opportunity to donate their bonus points to such important work,’ says Torgeir Silseth, CEO of Nordic Choice Hotels.

Funds donated by members of Nordic Choice Club will support cancer research, health education, prevention and treatment, and care work assisting cancer patients and their loved ones. The Nordic cancer societies also lobby the authorities and health service, and are a mouthpiece for the cancer cause.
