Press release -
Nordic Choice Hotels implements face masks for employees
For employees who are in direct contact with hotel guests, it will now become mandatory to wear face masks. This is the latest of a number of infection control measures Nordic Choice Hotels have implemented, to ensure a safe stay for its hotel guests during the Covid 19 outbreak.
–Since the beginning of the corona outbreak, we have been implementing initiatives to reduce the spread of infection at all of our hotels concurrently with the recommendations from the authorities. This includes a number of visible and invisible initiatives. The latest initiative is the use of face masks among the members of our staff who are in direct contact with our guests. Our guests and employees can be assured that we do everything in our power to make sure their hotel stay is safe and secure, says Torgeir Silseth, CEO of Nordic Choice Hotels.
All employees who are in direct contact with hotel guests must already from next week wear face masks while at work. However, face masks should not be seen as a replacement for previously implemented infection control measures. They are an addition to social distancing, good hand hygiene and thorough cleaning of common areas.
Face masks offered to conference attendees
– We know that many feel the need to meet again. The conference market is slowly opening up, and it is important to us to be able to offer safe meeting spaces. Therefore, one of our initiatives is that conference attendees are offered conference kits with face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. These kits will also be available for purchase for our regular hotel guests. Our main focus is to get us all through these challenging times. We do that by thinking in new, alternative ways and by implementing a number of initiatives to protect both our employees and guests, says CEO Torgeir Silseth.
Safe Stay is the name of Nordic Choice Hotels’ continuous effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This includes internal training in the use of personal protective equipment and correct use of face masks. Soon, it will also be possible for hotel guests to purchase face masks, hand sanitizer and gloves at the hotels. In periods with high occupancy, dedicated employees will be appointed as Safe Stay Crew. Their task will be to ensure that the initiatives for minimizing spread of infection are followed.
